Ya’ll know that I’m going to be a teacher right? If not, now you do! What this means for my closet is that it most of my clothes are modest and school appropriate. I’m totally okay with this since I’ve always dressed like this. It is what I am most comfortable in. Also, if I’m going to buy new clothes, they have got to be versatile. I’m on a “college student/I’m planning a wedding” budget. If you see me on the weekends, I’ll most likely be in sweats. It’s my only non-dress-up time and I’m not required to wear “real” clothes, aka-non gym clothes.
Today, I was able to tour an amazing middle school. I was in shock and awe when we were told that there were nearly 900 students that attend the school. That’s a little less than how many kids that attend my whole school district back home! Sometimes it amazes me how big the enrollment in some schools is.
Here is my teacher look. It finally got hot today, so dress pants were not an option! Do I look teachery?
*Did you see what I did there?! I picked up the dress up a few weeks ago off of the 75% off rack. I couldn’t pass it up! I bought the shoes at the end of last summer when they had all of their canvas shoes marked down. They’re by Mad Love and I am madly in love with them! They go well with my dress clothes and are more comfortable than heels! Lastly, the sweater was a Christmas gift from my mom and dad. I picked it out on Black Friday. Mom picked one out too, hers is much sparkier than mine!
When I lived at home, not much came out of a box. My mom was a big believer in making things homemade. I didn’t know what a Lunchable was until a friend’s mom let us have them for lunch one time. Trust me, I love her for it! While this made me get really sick and hate the food when I got to college (Everything was processed and mass produced. I’m not saying that it was all awful, but it just wasn’t my thing), my mom had my back and sent me food whenever Josh came to visit me!
But, I have a confession to make.
I was about 9 when we first had the Pillsbury pre-cut cookies with the designs on them. We probably begged for them until they were put in the cart just to give my parents some peace. Anyways, these things are my weakness. I love them. Not quite as much as Grandma Lorena’s sugar cookies (You haven’t lived until you have one of those things! Just ask Josh.), but these cookies get me every time. I only buy them once or twice a year, but when I do, it’s a pretty good day!
Oh my goodness gracious! The past two months feel like they have slipped through my hands! I work for the University Payroll Office. We started student Fall hiring at the beginning of August and we are just starting to reach the finish line. It’s going to be the best day ever when that last person gets put in. So hopefully, I can keep caught up over here! I can’t make any promises because I’m in that final stretch of only 2 more semesters before student teaching!!!! When I graduate I will technically be a Super, Super (a 4th semester) Senior due to my two majors and a minor. Anyways….
I apologize in advance for what’s about to happen. But this is big and I am beyond excited!
Sweet Potato Pie is about to become DIY Wedding for about 2 years. Not only am I getting married to Joshy, but my best friend Katey is getting married too! (But not to Joshy… To Joe!) Needless to say, we are super excited to plan things and make things! At this point, you’re probably thinking, “Wow, two years. That’s a long time to work on a wedding.” Well you see, next fall, I start student teacher and a majority of my time will be devoted to things like passing the edTPA! My goal is to have a lot planned by then so that I don’t become too much of a basket case. (And if you know me, I don’t handle stress well.)
That’s all I really have for ya folks! I just wanted to give you an update as to where I have been and where I will be going! If math doesn’t destroy me, I will try to get a project done and up soon! Want to see what’sup my sleeve for our wedding? Check out my Pinterest board! Notice all the glitter? I find it rather fitting, don’t you!? I promise that not everything will be in glitter. If it is, it will be sealed for Josh’s sake.
