Hi, I’m Katelyn and this is my blog!

Let’s start with a fun but kind of important fact. I don’t actually like sweet potato pie…  Or sweet potatoes for that matter. Infact I really don’t like pie that much {gasp}. I do however like peanut butter pie and chocolate pie, just not baked fruit pies. I know, I’m weird. But I do love food in general, it’s a Phillips thing. You can’t have a Phillips gathering without food! I love baking, cooking, and trying new recipies. Pinterest is currently my best friend and as a college student, it has made me very hungry! My blog is titled Sweet Potato Pie because my mom has called me that since before I can remember. My dad calls me bugs, but I highly doubt you’re going to read a blog titled Bugs.

Here is a little bit about me:
I grew up in a small farm town in Iowa, but I am not a farmer. I currently live in Wisconsin where I am going to school to be a teacher. My mom, dad, and two younger brothers still live in Iowa so I try to go home as much as I can. As I said before, I love to eat, cook, and bake. This tends to benifit my boyfriend quite often because there is always some kind of sweet and dinner in our apartment! I am addicted to crafting, the general public would say that I am addicted to glitter. That might be true, but I am not admitting to anything! My apartment is filled with several “in-progress” projects because I tend to get an amazing idea mid-project and have to start it right away. I am constantly trying to come up with ideas to decorate my apartment. I’m kind of stuck in a “decore” phase of crafting. I am always looking for ideas for my mock lesson plans for school projects (another Pinterest highlight). Right now I am trying to compile a big “Lesson Plan Idea Book” so that I can have resources ready when I have my own classroom.
